This is a piece of music I made for the first episode of the Four Eyed Monsters Video Podcast. Arin sent me a loop of him playing his nylon string guitar and said “See if you can do anything with this…” or something like that. So this is what I did with it and they liked what it added to the episode, so after a few revisions (there’s always revisions), this became the score for that episode.

Because I never intended for it to be listened to on its own, I can’t help but not really consider it a song. Musically, it’s sort of a one-trick-pony, doing the same couple of phrases over and over, but I get so many requests for it and so many people put it on their MySpace Profiles when it was up on myspace, that I decided to make it available to anyone that wants it. I guess people like it. :)

I should mention that Episode 6 has a piece of music I made to compliment this one. It’s based on a Minor-ized version of the same theme so I’m posting that here too.

“Begging”

more free music for you: Deleted Scenes Pre-Release 4

Posted on July 15th, 2009 by andrewapeterson. Filed under Deleted Scenes, Free Downloads, News.

If you’ve been checking out these tracks I’ve been giving away, this one is a bit darker in comparison.  But this collection runs the gamut.  There’s even one that reminds me of Dionne Warwick.

The other tracks from the forthcoming album, “Deleted Scenes” which I’ve released so far as nameless full-length previews can be found HERE

Right now the track count for Deleted Scenes is at Eighteen!  That’s pretty good. A few are shorties like this one but all together this album is shaping up to be a nice sized experience.  Beyond the main eighteen tracks I’m working with, there are other tracks that might get included if they flow well with the others.

My friend Elijah has been helping me make production decisions on these.  Right now I have a to-do list that Elijah and I came up with over the course of a couple days I spent with him at his place in Oakland.  Here’s my basic plan:

  • I’m releasing these songs as unnamed “full-length previews” as I get each track’s current to-do items done.
  • Then, I’m hopefully going to do another session with Elijah and gather feedback from my friends and from people like you.
  • Then another round of revisions based on that final feedback.
  • Finally, I hope to get access to some of the unused audio and background sound/noise from the film, Four Eyed Monsters (which all these tracks were originally created for but not used in).  I’d like to add some interesting stuff, sort of sprinkled throughout, to help give the album an abstract sense of story and place.
  • Then I’ll mix it down and  become rich and famous… Or at least I’ll mix it down and spend time and money making it available to people who might enjoy it.

Free MP3 – Deleted Scenes Preview Track Two

Second Free MP3 I’m giving away in advance of the forthcoming collection of music titled “Deleted Scenes,” which is a bunch of soundtrack pieces I made for the feature film Four Eyed Monsters, but weren’t used in the end.

Between working for the man, I’m trying to get this diverse collection of ambient bits ready for human consumption, and thanks to my friend Elijah, it’s coming along.

Although these tracks aren’t quite my normal style of work, I like that their are a lot of common themes throughout the collection and that the style is quite varied.  You’ll see.

Enjoy!

Feedback welcome if not encouraged.

Free MP3 – Deleted Scenes Preview Track One

Posted on May 24th, 2009 by andrewapeterson. Filed under Deleted Scenes, Free Downloads, News.

This is the first of several ‘Preview Tracks’ for the album “Deleted Scenes” I’m going to be releasing in the next two weeks or so.  The versions of these tracks that end up on the album “Deleted Scenes” may be slightly different from the preview versions.  Also, I’m not yet giving public names to the tracks so you’ll have to settle for “deleted scenes preview one”

Also, comments are open.  I welcome any feedback you care to give.

Enjoy.
